About
Brady has worked on or around snowmobiles for most of his life. He noticed that it was a recurring challenge for any mechanic to access the undercarriage of the machine for repairs. Early in the winter of 2009, Brady was helping his brother, Bryan, get his snowmobile ready for an upcoming race. They encountered this challenge first hand when they tipped the sled onto its side. Without proper support, the machine was unstable and posed a danger to anyone working on it. They propped it up using wooden blocks to complete the work.
It was that very evening that Brady thought of the SideKick. He built a prototype that consisted of two adjustable bars. One bar attached into the steering post of the sled, and the other bar adjusts to lock onto the rear bumper. They tested it out on a snowmobile, and after a few minor adjustments, the Sidekick was born. Finally, there was a way to safely tip the sled to efficiently make repairs.
Bryan Dyrdahl went on to use The Sidekick to win the I-500 Cross-Country Snowmobile Race that same winter. 500 History Poster
